God the Creator - New Testament Witness of His Glory: Part 8 of 13

Preview: An introduction to the God of Creation; the only true God. This is the eighth part of a thirteen-part series of lessons on this subject.


Scripture Reading: Luke 2:1-14.

Memory Verse: Luke 19:38.

1. Do we find in the foregoing Scripture Reading and Memory Verse that the glory of God comes to us through His Son Jesus Christ?
2. Did Jesus seek His own glory or the glory of the Father? John 7:17-18 & John 8:49-50.
3. Did He ask for honors for Himself, or that the glory be given to the Name of God the Father? John 12:23 & John 12:26-28.
Note: To glorify means to magnify, exalt, praise, honor, or worship. Jesus sought none of these things for Himself. Instead, He came to present the glory of His Father.
4. Did Jesus still give God the Father all the praise even though He was the workman? John 14:10-13.
Note: The main cause for war and strife in our homes, churches, and the world is man’s desire to be exalted, rather than giving the honor and praise to God. We must humble ourselves before we can walk with God.
5. Did Jesus ask His Father to glorify Him just before His crucifixion? John 17:1-5.
6. For what purpose did He seek this glory? John 17:6-8 & John 17:21-23.
Note: Jesus wanted the world to see the glory of God through Him and His creation.
7. Did He claim credit for Himself for those who were converted? John 17:9-12.
8. Is this still the salvation message for man today? John 17:17-20 & John 20:21.
Note: Jesus is still the only way to God the Father. He has commissioned the Church to continue teaching the same message of truth.
9. Did God the Father honor and exalt His Son? Philippians 2:9-11.
10. Should we seek for honor and glory for ourselves or should we always remember to praise the Lord? Romans 11:33-36.
